We have had two weeks to digest what's going on in the NFL. Last week's injuries have really taken their toll on some contenders and opened the door up for some teams to step into the spotlight. I usually stick to the gambling side of things but knowing who is good and who isn't is a big part of that! So I'll give you my top 5 and bottom 5 squads each week and see where that gets us. Let's dive into the bottom 5 first and save the best for last!
Bottom 5
28. Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals have found their trigger man in Joe Borrow and are on the way up. Please Bengals management goes out and get this kid an offensive line and keep him healthy, you won't regret it.
29. Atlanta Falcons
If a football rolls on a field, does anyone pick it up? I've never seen so many guys look at a rolling football in my life. I don't which is more embarrassing that play or their Defense? Get Dan Quinn out of there and turn the page.
30. Carolina Panthers
It's going be a long rebuild in Carolina, but I think they have the right guy in Matt Rhule. Losing Christian McCaffrey for six weeks just doesn't help the cause and they will linger near the bottom this year.
31. New York Jets
This was a tough one, do I go with my hatred for Adam Gase and his terrible coaching decisions or my love of Sam Darnold over Daniel Jones for the last spot? I went for Sam Darnold and hope that he actually gets a coach that knows what's going on before its too late.
32. New York Giants
The big rotten apple with these two squads this year. I'm just not a big believer in Daniel Jones and now Saquon has gotten hurt again and done for the year. That means the Giants are done as well so maybe they land Trevor Lawrence and right the ship in the offseason.
Top 5
5. Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals are flying high with a Darkhorse MVP candidate in Kyler Murray and his new best friend DeAndre Hopkins. A win over the 49ers in week one and then no let down against the Football Team in week two finds the Birds tied for first out west.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers
Ben Roethlisberger's return has put the offense right in the middle of the pack and the defense is leading the way. I will admit that they looked bad against the Broncos in the second half, but with a defense leading the league against the rush and QB pressures and a big-play offense, I like them as a top 5 team right now.
3. Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers looks like an MVP candidate, The Pack lit the fire at the draft and so far he is responding. Aaron Jones is looking great and the defense is doing enough for now.
2. Kansas City Chiefs
The Defending Champs have looked rusty but the addition of Clyde Edwards-Helaire has given them another dimension on offense. They have a showdown in Baltimore Monday night to see who is the king of the AFC.
1. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens have absolutely run over Cleveland and Houston. Lamar Jackson is looking like the MVP again and the defense has been stingy. A win over Kansas City and the Ravens will cement themselves at the top of the NFL mountain.
That's this week's top 5 and bottom 5. The NFL is always so fluid and with the weird offseason and injuries mounting, I expect this year to be even crazier. The Monday night showdown in Baltimore should provide some clarity on who is the best in the league next week.
